Grief can stem from various types of loss, not just death of a loved one. Common types of loss include the death of a person, or pet, relationship breakups, loss of health, job loss, financial instability, loss of a cherished dream, and even the loss of a home or community. Additionally non-death losses like the loss of sense of self, identity or even subtle losses like moving or changing jobs, home, school can trigger grief.
